Von 2018 bis 2021 war er als Solist am Eduard-von-Winterstein-Theater in Annaberg-Buchholz und von 2021 bis 2022 am Theater Regensburg engagiert sowie als Gast am Volkstheater Rostock. Während der Spielzeit 2022/2023 hatte er wechselnde Auftritte als Solist am Opernhaus Zürich, am Theater Görlitz, am Theater Hof, sowie als Konzertsänger beim Atonal Festival 2022 und bei Märzmusik 2023. In der Spielzeit 2023/2024 wird er als Solist an der Wuppertaler Bühnen, am Theater Görlitz und am Theater Chemnitz engagiert.

ENGLISH: Lauded for his capable singing and acting by Anne Midgette of the Washington Post, Los Angeles area native Jason Lee continues to make his mark across many different mediums and eras of music.
Jason made his German debut as Mario Cavaradossi in Tosca, in the 2018-2019 season, with the Eduard von Winterstein Theater, in Annaberg-Buchholz, Germany. Other important role debuts in Annaberg-Buchholz include: Edwin//Die Csárdásfürstin, Nemorino//L'elisir d'amore [Der Liebestrank], and Sigismund //Im weissen Rössl. Following his time in Annaberg-Buchholz, Jason was a member of the Music Theater ensemble at Theater Regensburg, where he performed as Pang // Turandot, and Alfred // Die Fledermaus, among other roles. Other important roles include: Jamie in The Last Five Years, Fritz [cover] in Die Grossherzogin von Gerolstein, and Postbote/Mondbote in Frau Luna, all with the Gerhart-Hauptmann Theater in Görlitz, Germany, Herr Vogelsang in Der Schauspieldirektor in Freiburg in Breisgau, Germany, Don Basilio//Le nozze di Figaro with the Charlottesville Opera Company and St. Brioche in Die lustige Witwe with the Bad Orb Summer Festival in Hessen, Germany.
No stranger to new music, Jason has also worked personally with rising composers through Washington National Opera’s American Opera Initiative on two productions: the role of Dr. Vergara in Douglas Pew’s A Game of Hearts, and with composer Huang Ruo and playwright David Henry Hwang in a workshop of their opera An American Soldier, helping to create the role of Danny Chen. He also is affiliated with the Berlin based new music group, Phønix 16 Solistenensemble, which regularly produces concerts and recordings of music from the 20th and 21st century. Most recently, their recordings have been featured on the WDR and in an upcoming production at the Theater de Champs-Elysées.
Jason is also an avid recitalist and concert performer, most recently performing as Tenor Soloist in Mendelssohn’s Lobgesang, op. 52, in the König Albert Theater, Bad Elster, Germany. Other recent concert performances include: a recital of Duparc songs at the Mendelssohn Haus in Berlin, as Tenor Soloist in the Messe in D by Otto Nicolai, and as Tenor Soloist in Bach Cantata 62. Jason has also been a featured recitalist with various organizations, including: the Galerie-am-Meer Berlin, Societá Dante Aligheri Berlin, DC Arts Club, and with the Art of Argento Festival.
Jason holds degrees from the University of Maryland-College Park, and the Eastman School of Music, and furthered his education at the Aspen Music Festival and School and as a Studio Artist with the Wolf Trap Opera Company. Jason is also a recipient of a Richard Wagner Scholarship [2019] to Bayreuth, Germany bestowed on him by the Richard Wagner Society of Chemnitz Germany.
Since moving to Germany in 2016, Jason has been a member of the ensembles of: Wuppertaler Bühnen, Theater Regensburg, and the Eduard Winterstein Theater in Annaberg-Buchholz. Guest work includes solo appearances at the: Opernhaus Zürich, Theater Chemnitz, Theater Hof, Volkstheater Rostock, and the Gerhart-Hauptmann-Theater in Görlitz.
Beginning with the 2024-2025 season, he will be a member of the ensemble at the Tiroler Landestheater. [June 2024]
